Yearly Reminder

I know we are in the yearly recap phase on social media and everyone is announcing their biggest wins, but please don't compare yourself and your progress to others. If your biggest achievement was just staying alive, then that's the biggest win of all.

And another reminder you should hear is that you should compare yourself to the self of yours you were yesterday/in the past. You're improving for yourself and only. Not for the people around you. You have nothing to prove to anyone regardless of them asking or of them trying to force you to prove yourself to them. You have to prove yourself to yourself only.

Whoever sees/notices your self improvement, will have the intention to see it regardless of accepting you as who you are. Whoever does not, you don't have to waste your time trying to prove them yourself or please them to see your worth so they appreciate you and in the worse case scenario, so they do not treat you awfully in any way, shape or form but they'll indeed do that anyway.

Leave the ones who would treat you awfully live in their own fairytale and you, keep moving forward in your life. Justified or not, for any type of abuse, harassment, accusations and many more you've gone through, you always have the right to keep moving forward in your life and let them go when you're ready. None has the right to force you to move on from any awful thing you've gone through, especially if they're the ones triggering you the abuse and its memories by repeating its cycle thus giving you the right to consider them hypocrites as well.
